About Me:
I am interested in protecting the integrity of ecosystems everywhere.
Rich biodiversity of plants and animals once flourished on earth in a quality and quantity that makes today's earth look like a dismal, poisoned wasteland. What remains of the earth's flora and fauna is severely threatened by human expansion. I strongly believe that the only way to protect the remaining species from extinction is to limit the human population.

Oil: The Fuel of Population Growth

With 6.7 billion people, there are already too many mouths to feed without the help of oil.

With oil production already at or near peak, we are entering a period of terminal production decline.

At present production rates, there is less than 40 years left of oil. The 40 year estimate from oil company executives has been criticized as overly optimistic.

Virtually every country in the world is now dependent on oil. There is no other source of energy which is as abunda…

The government wants to bury 45,000 tonnes of nuclear waste in the Canadian shield in an unspoiled, wilderness location of important wildlife habitat near only small settlements of people.

Wouldn't it be more fair to leave the waste at the reactor sites with the people who make money from producing it?

Actually, I think it would be most fair to export the nuclear waste to To…

There is no such thing as "smart growth"!

At this point in human history with 6.7 billion people, less than 40 years left of oil, nuclear expansion, highway expansion, deforestation, and species extinctions, it is long overdue that we start thinking about a steady state economy and therefore a steady state population. Population growth is undesirable and will lead to a worsened environment whether it occurs via sprawling suburbs or via high-rise apartments. There is no smart population growth, because environmental degradation and po…
